If 9-11 was 'an inside job'
They didn't need G. Liddy, or the mob --
Just a bunch of Terrorists who hate us,
Going by the name Al Qaeda.
The hijackers had funds and aid,
To carry out their plan,
As our defense backed off,
Although so many knew it in advance,
Through intelligence from other lands
In the months & days before attack.
The words were loud and clear:
"Bin Laden determined to strike!"
Bush heard, on August 6, in Texas.
Yet he did absolutely nothing, why?
What would he stand to gain
Beyond the horror and the pain?

Our President did not, repeat did not
Conceive or implement the plot
for a "Pearl Harbor-like" event
Referred to in a think-tank document,
(Who did, is a good question)
But Bush did nothing to prevent it,
Since patriotic feelings, and alarm
That enemies would do us harm,
Would boost PR for his first term,
Providing good pretext for war--
Which has its upside, to be sure
(not counting killed & wounded)
A foothold in an oil region
Which was the tactic planned
After surveillance measures in the land
Were introduced and quickly passed.

Now some widowed victims of the 9-11 crashes
Think it's time for evidence to be rehashed,
Since the first Commission white-washed,
Ignored and quashed key facts.

Does a new investigation have a chance?
Will it hurt the nation's image or enhance?
